Wisdom in the Breeze

Ever just sit on a porch that has a cool cross breeze? Every home I've lived in since I moved out of NYC has had a front porch. During the Spring, Summer and Fall and some parts of Winter when the weather is favorable, I love to just sit out there and see the cars drive by. Before the age of cell phones I’d just read a book or hubby and I would just talk and laugh, catch up on our day, reconnect. It’s a breath of fresh air.

Since being Saved, I use it to read scripture or listen to my favorite sermons online through my phone and doodle. I find it has a calming effect on my soul. I use that simple freedom to let me be me and release the worries and anxiety that may be trying to creep up on me.

Even to the point that the porch has become a “No Drama Zone”. Neither Children, Spouse or invited guests are allowed to bring strife to my porch. Over the years that rule has been enforced, cultivated, respected and encouraged so that when you sit with me on the porch, it's a place of love. I hope you have a spot where you can go and feel the same.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
